Hi, I’m John Miles, CEO of the New Zealand Marketing Association
I was born in Newcastle, United Kingdom and moved to New Zealand at the age of six. I’ve been cheeky and full of energy ever since (occasionally to my own detriment—yes, I was once dumped in a rubbish bin). These days, I lead the New Zealand Marketing Association.
I’ve gone from being an international sportsman to marketing beer, launching New Zealand’s first Film and TV export group, and building a career as a specialist marketer and in education.
Along the way, I’ve taken the MA from a local player to a globally recognised association.
The MA board once said my passion and enthusiasm are my superpower. A member called it “unnatural energy.” I’ll take both.
My philosophy is simple: Innovate, innovate and innovate again.
